Student accounts

High school students are encouraged to open a savings account (share draft account) with CenLA Federal Credit Union to begin learning how to set aside a portion of their funds for various purposes in life (i.e. college costs, unexpected expenses, down payment for a vehicle, long term goals, etc).

Requirements

Students 16 - 18 years old

  • Must have adult joint owner on account until student is of legal age (18)
  • Student must maintain $25 in savings account at all times
  • No fees
  • Must live, work or worship in CenLA FCU service area (Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides or Winn parish)

Students 19 years old or older

  • Student can open savings account on their own
  • $25 required to open savings account
  • Member must bring balance to $50 in savings account within 90 days after opening account or member will incur a $5.00 monthly service fee.
  • Must live, work or worship in CenLA FCU service area (Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides or Winn parish)

To open a savings account, students will need a Social Security Number and a form of identification (Drivers License or a Student ID).

Call 318-445-7388 to speak to one of CenLA FCU’s Member Service Representatives (MSR) at the Pineville or Coliseum branch to help you complete the process.  Or, stop by one of the branches Monday – Friday anytime between 9 AM – 5 PM and someone will be happy to assist you.  

*Student account must remain open for at least six months.
